NYSTEC Goes Purple for Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month
Purple was plentiful at all points NYSTEC on Friday, June 23rd for Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. Purple clothing was prominent all day, with many people purple accessorizing with scarves, leis, socks and ties. There was also time to drink healthy purple smoothies loaded with antioxidants and lift purple weights!
June was Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, and the Alzheimer’s Association® needed NYSTEC and other concerned companies and people to get involved and raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Everyone who has a brain is at risk to develop Alzheimer’s, a disease that is often misunderstood.
Did you know:
• Alzheimer’s is fatal. It kills more than breast and prostate cancer combined.
• Alzheimer’s is not normal aging. It’s a progressive brain disease without any cure.
• Alzheimer’s is more than memory loss. It appears through a variety of signs and symptoms.
NYSTEC’s goal is to match donations to the Alzheimer’s Association up to $1,000.
