NYSTEC Puts in a Full Day at the Root Farm in Sauquoit, NY
April 28, 2017. NYSTEC volunteers spent a lovely Spring day doing some necessary chores at the Root Farm and Upstate Cerebral Palsy (UCP) equine center facility in Sauquoit, NY. The Root Farm is focused on learning and healing for people of all ages and abilities through the power of equine, agricultural (including a program on honey production with bees) and recreational experiences. The Root Farm and Upstate Cerebral Palsy (UCP) recently joined forces and expanded to this new Central NY location on over 100 acres.
NYSTEC chores on this eventful day included helping level some of the dips in the driveway (allowing easier access for wheelchair users), cleaning horse stalls, providing some touch up painting on a hide-a-way stable, and removing rocks from the pasture so the horses and Milly, (donkey resident at the farm and our new company best friend) wouldn’t break a hoof!
